Riječki komorni zbor “Val” mješoviti je zbor osnovan u rujnu 2012. Repertoar zbora čine domaće i strane umjetničke skladbe svih stilskih razdoblja, duhovne i svjetovne tematike, a posebni se naglasak stavlja na njegovanje glazbe našega kraja.

Zbor se publici dosad predstavio brojnim samostalnim ili prijateljskim cjelovečernjim duhovnim i svjetovnim koncertima te raznim prigodnim nastupima, natjecanjima u zemlji i inozemstvu te humanitarnim koncertima. Na dosadašnjim natjecanjima u zemlji i inozemstvu zbor je ostvario značajne rezultate i osvojio sljedeće nagrade: jednu broncu, sedam srebra, osam zlatnih plaketa, i nekoliko posebnih nagrada, među kojima nagradu publike za najbolji nastup i nagradu za najbolje izvedeno djelo hrvatskog skladatelja.

Zbor je snimio dva glazbena spota posvećena gradu Rijeci, “Fiume nel mio cuor” i “Laku noć, grade”. Na njihovom YouTube kanalu mogu se vidjeti snimke s raznih koncerata i natjecanja
Od brojnih angažmana kao jedan od dosad najznačajnijih iskoraka u novi žanr smatraju sudjelovanje u koncertu “Playlista mog djetinjstva” sa Zvjezdanom Ružićem i njegovim sekstetom.

CHAMBER CHOIR VAL, RIJEKA

TThe Rijeka Chamber Choir “Val” is a mixed choir founded in September 2012. Its repertoire encompasses Croatian and international choral works from all stylistic periods, both sacred and secular, with a special focus on preserving and promoting the musical heritage of the Rijeka region.

The choir has appeared in numerous full-length concerts, both independent and collaborative, presenting sacred and secular programmes. In addition, it regularly participates in special events, competitions in Croatia and abroad, and charity concerts.

Over the years, the choir has achieved notable success at national and international competitions, winning one bronze, seven silver and eight gold awards, as well as several special prizes, including the Audience Award for Best Performance and an award for the Best Performance of a Work by a Croatian Composer.

The choir has recorded two music videos dedicated to the city of Rijeka — Fiume nel mio cuor and Laku noć, grade. Recordings from various concerts and competitions are available on the choir’s YouTube channel.

Among its many artistic projects, one of the choir’s most significant ventures into a new musical genre was the concert Playlist of My Childhood, performed together with Zvjezdan Ružić and his sextet.

The artistic director of the choir is Doris Kovačić.
